LEADERSHIP and TEAM DEVELOPMENT
Leading Up:
Creating Balance, Focus, and Effectiveness
It’s our job to create balance.
DISTRACTIONS:
Internal Distractions:
The stuff in our head that keeps us from focusing.
•Playing the hero - look good
•Dopamine hits – fun, visible, unimportant
•People pleasing – inability to say no
•Wanting to be liked – all the above
External Distractions:
Everything in our world that keeps us from focusing.
•You are the go-to person for every question – are you afraid to say no?
•Doing the job yourself – not leading or delegating.
Don’t fall prey to habits and conditioning that keep you from doing effective triage, setting boundaries, creating workable agreements or having difficult conversations.
